Last Friday Years 2 and 3 set off on an excursion to Bunbury. First we visited Taffy’s Lolly Shop. We learnt from Mr Morris about old fashion candy making. He was very funny! We watched him create buttersnap and use the melting chocolate machine. We got to spend each – there were so many lollies to choose from.

Then we went to White Rocks farm in Brunswick. Mr & Mrs Partridge, who owned the farm, took us through an old classroom, old house and showed us machinery from a long time ago. Then we were amazed by the modern milking machines . It was so cool!! The cows rotate while they are milked.

We had a fantastic day and learnt so much about food production.

Thursday of this week saw St Matthew’s celebrate our 2018 Swimming Carnival. Students from Gibney, McFall and Phelan competed in a variety of swimming races and novelty events with Phelan clinching the crown as champions of 2018.  A huge thank you to all parent helpers and teachers who helped make the day run so smoothly.

The report intends to provide our school community with information about our school’s activities and performance
