Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Tuesday 15th September, all Year 3 and Year 4 students will be travelling to Katanning to present their STEM projects at the Great Southern Network STEM Showcase.
The showcase provides students with an exciting opportunity to share the STEM projects they have been working on at school, explain their ideas and design process, and view projects created by students from other Catholic schools across the Great Southern region.
Students will travel by bus to the Pioneer Room at the Katanning Recreation Centre, 4 Pemble Street, Katanning. We will leave St Matthew’s School at 9:00 am to allow time to arrive and set up our projects before the official welcome at 10:30 am.
Throughout the day, students will participate in a STEM panel session and STEM challenge before presenting their projects during the showcase. The event will conclude at approximately 1:30 pm, after which students will pack up and return to St Matthew’s School.
We anticipate arriving back at school at approximately 2:45 pm.
Students will need to bring:
- a packed recess and lunch
- their water bottle
- their school hat
Students are required to wear their sports uniform, including the school red sports shirt.
We are very excited for our Year 3 and Year 4 students to have the opportunity to represent St Matthew’s and share the fantastic STEM work they have completed this term.
