Message from Fr Tony on his 40th Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood

On Sunday 6th February I celebrated mass in my hometown of Waroona, marking the 40th anniversary of my Ordination to the Priesthood in the then newly built Hulls’ Waroona Contracting Shed.

Given the uncertainties of the current covid-19 situation , a large gathering was not possible.

My 40 years have been mostly lived in the Diocese, among our People and Priests, and I wish to
“reach out” at this time to thank all the People of God, the Priests, Deacons and Bishops who
have supported me in our shared ministry over the years. There is much I would like to say at this time
but above all “I thank my God each time I think of you”.

Thank you and God bless,

Fr Tony

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Children’s Liturgy will be offered on 27/02, 13/03 and 27/03.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word was recommenced at St Matthew’s Parish on Sunday. This will be offered on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Children’s Liturgy is for children approximately aged between 4 and 8 years. The aim is to provide an experience that is enjoyable and more appropriate to their level of understanding. Due to new legislation, parents need to register their children at the Parish Centre before Mass begins.

Parents are requested to:
* Complete and sign the Parent Consent Form.
* Take a copy of the Instructions for Parents and Children.
* Go through the Code of Behaviour.

Consent forms will be used to prepare an attendance roll and an identity lanyard for your child/ren. Children will not be able to attend without a completed Consent Form. The forms are available from the Office, or from the Parish Centre before Mass on Children’s Liturgy days.
