Honour Certificates

Congratulations to our Honour Certificate recipients. We are all very proud of you.

Tennis Anyone?

Last Wednesday, nineteen Year 5 and 6 students walked down to the Narrogin tennis courts to participate in the Upper Great Southern Tennis Academy Plate. St Matthew’s was represented well with 4 mixed teams playing in a field of 16 teams from across our region.  It was a very warm day and we were very grateful when Mrs George brought us down some icy poles to share.

All teams played great tennis, improving enormously throughout the day, demonstrating wonderful sportsmanship, and learning all the etiquette associated with the game of tennis. This tournament was a great way for students to consolidate the tennis skills they have been learning during Physical Education lessons this term. The best way to learn a game is to play lots of it!

I would personally like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mrs Parsons, Mrs Snow and Mrs Annear for volunteering all day to umpire and coach a team each. Your time is truly appreciated.

Well done to all the kids. You represented our school beautifully!

Faction Swimming Carnival and WaterFun Day

The Faction Swimming Carnival for students in Years 3-6 will be held Wednesday 11th March at the Narrogin Leisure Centre. Last week, a permission note was made available on the school App (Announcements – Faction Swimming Carnival) and website (Information – Forms). Please ensure these forms are received by Mrs Kilpatrick as soon as possible.

To coincide with this day, the lucky Year 1 and 2 students will take part in a WaterFun Day. A note supplying more information about this has been uploaded on the school app (Announcements) and emailed through Seqta.

Faction Swimming Carnival Lunch Orders

Our amazing P&F have offered to make lunches for the Factions Swimming Carnival and the WaterFun Day. A hard copy of the lunch order form went home last week; alternatively, this can be printed at home from the App or the website (Forms).

School Band

St Matthew’s is very lucky to be able to have a school band. This initiative provides music extension for a group of talented Year 4 to Year 6 students. Each student in these grades is able to audition. This year our band members are:

Vocals: Maleah (Year 5)

Drums: Luca (Year 5)

Keyboard: Dylan (Year 5) and Nnaemeka (Year 6)

Guitar: Xavier (Year 6)

Developing Guitar: Mia and Delilah (Year 5)

We would love to be able to have both of our keyboard players performing songs, and therefore, will require an additional keyboard. Please contact me if you are able to assist us in this area by lending us the instrument.
