Reconciliation

On Sunday 16 August, children who receive Reconciliation for the first time on Wednesday 12 August at 6pm, are invited to attend Sunday Mass at 10:00 am.  They will receive their certificates at the conclusion of Mass.  Students will be recognised at school for their special achievement with a cake after the Yr One Assembly on Friday 14 August.

Playing at Play Cafe

On Friday 31 July the St Matthew’s School Play Café began with maximum numbers and maximum fun. Lots of play, learning, smiles and fun for the littlest members of our St Matt’s community. And, maybe just as importantly, the mums and dads had an opportunity to chat and relax over a cuppa and a biscuit. Play Café runs every Friday morning from 8:30 – 10:30am. Bookings are essential.

Year 1 Maths Rotations

Last week, in Year 1, we learnt all about 2D shapes. We learnt about edges and corners, and practised counting how many of each were in each shape. We also learnt about straight lines and curvy lines. We searched for straight and curvy letters in magazines and sorted them. We practised sorting shapes (and buttons) into categories and learnt that we can sort shapes into lots of different categories.
