Yr 6 Camp

Year 6 students embarked on their 3-day camp last week to Ern Halliday Recreation Camp. After arriving and settling into their dorms, they began their first activity, ‘Lost Pilot’, a search and rescue mission based on teamwork and observation skills. Their bike skills were then put to the test on the Pump Track, before the pressure lifted during the Minute to Win It challenges. After a restless night, Day 2 involved Archery, Rock Climbing, Teambuilding and the Big Swing, before a reflective Prayer Service focusing on the theme, ‘Do not be afraid’ closed off the day. The final day involved an orienteering challenge and then Class Council to reflect on their amazing camp. Overall, the students built on their friendships, problem-solving and cooperation skills, and learnt to face their fears in many different ways. Despite some weary eyes, many wonderful memories were made that they will treasure forever.

CDS Visits Play Cafe

It was lovely to see our littlest people socialising at Play Cafe on Friday. The parents were very fortunate to have Kira Flynn from the Southern Wheatbelt Primary Health Child Development Service join them for a cuppa and a chat. Parents spoke to her about any child concerns they may have had in areas such as eating, hearing, talking, understanding, movement, hand skills, and social/play skills.

Play Cafe will continue every Friday this Term and is suitable for all children up to the age of 5.

School Dental Clinic

As you may be aware, the school dental service offers free dental treatment to students aged 5-17. Previously, the school dental clinic was based out of the Narrogin Primary School. From Term 4 2020 this location will be changing.

All appointments for students enrolled at St Matthew’s School, East Narrogin Primary School, Narrogin Senior High School and WA College of Agriculture Narrogin will now be seen at our new facility located within the Narrogin District Hospital.

Students will receive appointment slips in the mail as they have previously. Our phone number will be the same, only the location of the clinic will change.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place at the Narrogin District Hospital, we ask that only a parent/guardian and the child due for the dental appointment are to attend.
