Merry Christmas One and All

As this is the last newsletter for 2020, the staff of St Matthew’s would like to wish all of our wonderful families a lovely, peaceful Christmas:

Mr Tenney:

Merry Christmas to all from the Tenney family. We hope you have the opportunity to spend some quality time with your friends and family over the break. In a year of uncertainty and chaos, family, friends, and faith hold us together. God bless.

Mr Collins:

Dear St Matthew’s School Community,

Wishing you every joy and blessing as we enter this special time in anticipation of the birth of our saviour, Jesus Christ. May your household be filled with happiness and love during this special time. Be safe, and enjoy your time with your loved ones over this holiday period.

Mrs Maartens:

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Wishing all the wonderful families of St Matthew’s a blessed Christmas time and all the best for the new year.

Mrs Quartermaine:

Parents, you are the special part of the team, and it’s been great working with you!

May you have a very happy Christmas, counting your blessings and being thankful.

Enjoy your holiday!

Merry Christmas, Peace and Joy to you all.

Cricket Carnival

The annual Interschool Cricket Cup Blast was held on Friday for all students from Years 4-6. This was a great chance for the children to showcase the skills that they have been developing in PE classes throughout Term 4.

St Matthew’s entered 3 boys teams and 3 girls teams of mixed year levels. The weather was great, the music was jamming, some great cricket was played and it was wonderful to see students mixing with old and new friends from the other Narrogin schools.

A huge thank you to Mr George for volunteering his whole day to come and manage a team, and also to Mrs George who kindly brought along icy poles for all the students to enjoy.

Soccer Clinics

During PE lessons last week, students from PP – Year 6 were treated to a specialised soccer clinic, hosted by the energetic and hilarious Louis from ProFootball. After opening the lessons with a few funny jokes, Louis launched into an intense 45 minutes of game-based, skill learning. Students are all hoping that we can get Louis back next year for another clinic as they enjoyed the fun, knowledge, and skills that he shared. Thanks to Mr Tenney for organising!
