Swimming Lessons
A big thank you to all of our families who supported our Year 3 – 6 swimming lessons this term. It may not have been all smooth sailing, but these lessons are so important to the health and safety of our children. Swimming certificates will be sent home on Monday.
Sun Smart Tennis Classic
On Wednesday 1 March, a happy group of Year 5 and 6 students walked down to the Narrogin Tennis courts to participate in the Upper Great Southern SunSmart Tennis Classic. St Matthew’s was represented well with 4 mixed teams playing in a field of 16 teams from across our region.
All teams played great tennis, improving enormously throughout the day, demonstrating wonderful sportsmanship, and learning all the etiquette associated with the game of tennis. This tournament was a great way for students to consolidate the tennis skills they have been learning during Physical Education lessons this term. The best way to learn a game is to play lots of it!
I would personally like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mrs Sewell and Mrs Hardie for volunteering on the day. Your time is truly appreciated.
Well done to all the kids. You represented our school beautifully!
Art Award
At each assembly, our Arts Ministry present an award for inspiring, artistic and creative pieces of art. This week’s recipient was Mercy in Yr 4. Congratulations, Mercy on your beautiful sunflower picture.
Making Jesus Real Award
Making Jesus Real is a way of life, Christ’s way.
It is about bringing the Catholic faith to life for our students by showing them how to live it every day. We give them the tools they need to feel the Spirit of Jesus each day and to find the God moments that are always happening around us.
At each assembly, our Year 6 leaders present the MJR award to student/s who are showing Christ values or being the face of Jesus. This week’s recipient was Samuel (Yr 3). Congratulations, Samuel, we are so proud of you.
Honour Certificate
Congratulations to all our Honour Certificate recipients. We are very proud of you.
