Stations of the Cross

On Thursday, April 10, St Matthew’s School came together for the Stations of the Cross. Our children in Years 4 to 6 reverently re-enacted Jesus’ last days on Earth. Thank you to Ms Bailey, Mrs Kilpatrick and Miss Sutton for helping our students develop a deeper understanding of Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity’s redemption.

He is Risen Prayer Service

On Thursday, May 1, our Junior Primary classes led us in a He is Risen Prayer Service to celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection. The celebration was full of joy and we thank Miss Lock, Miss Newton, Miss Whiteford and Mrs Dyke for preparing the children for this important service.

Combined Schools ANZAC Service

On Friday, 11 April, Years 4 to Year 6 students attended the Combined Schools ANZAC Day service. This year, it was St Matthew’s School’s pleasure to host this event. Our beautiful choir sang and selected Year 6 students read and laid the wreath:

A big thank you to Mrs Moulton for leading our lovely choir and Mrs Hastie for her assistance with the music. I would also like to acknowledge Mrs Finlayson, Rik Nulla, Kate Cousins, Ryland Paice and Georgia Ellis from Narrogin Senior High School who assisted with the service.

ANZAC Day Ceremony

On 25 April, Jackson, Ellice and Bodeen (Yr 6) proudly laid a wreath at the community service for ANZAC Day. A big thank you to their families for bringing them in on their school holidays to represent St Matthew’s School so beautifully.

Loose Parts and Nature Play

It was lovely to watch students from Years 1 to 5 completely engrossed in imaginative play during break times last week. They turned loose parts and natural materials into restaurants, cubbies and vehicles. This play fosters creativity, problem-solving, and a deep connection with the natural world, bringing them pure happiness and wonder.
