School Vision

St Matthew’s School empowers children to embrace life-long learning and grow and develop as God intends.

Assumption Prayer

Loving Father,

you have raised up the Blessed Virgin Mary to share in your communion of love.

Accept us into that holy embrace through the sacrifice of our prayers.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Dear Parents and Carers

It was wonderful to see so many parents and friends attending our Year 6 assembly this morning. The Year Six children have been learning about informative writing in which they had to write their own script for a news segment. The assembly item, based on a news program, was very entertaining and cleverly written.

Book Week Parade

At assembly this morning I reminded students about our Book Week Dress Up Parade next Thursday morning at 9am. This is a special event during Book Week where students dress up as their favourite book character. Please encourage your child to bring along the book that contains their character. All parents and friends are invited to attend the parade.

National Science Week

This week is National Science Week, Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology. During the week Mrs DÁlton, our Science Specialist, has been providing students with the opportunity to participate in a range of age appropriate activities revolving around the theme. Please see information and photos provided in School News.

Striving for Excellence

At St Matthew’s it is important that we have the highest of expectations of our students and that we support them in their individual pursuit of excellence. Excellence in academics, music, sport or other disciplines is very individual. It is my expectation that every student achieves excellence in the following areas.

  • Showing respect to others
  • Trying your best
  • Persistence
  • Manners
  • Pride for our school

To show pride in our school it is important that every student wears their uniform correctly and adheres to the Uniform Policy. This policy also outlines what hair styles are appropriate for our school. Please click HERE to view this document and help ensure your child is striving for excellence.

Parking

A reminder that we have been asked by the Senior Citizens to refrain from parking in their car bays inside the complex, when we are picking up or dropping off children. Your consideration with this matter would be appreciated.

May God bless your week

Principal
