On Wednesday, the Year Five students shared the special skills and talents that God has given them by developing activities to teach the Year One students.  Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side and we couldn’t do some of the outside activities planned – but both Mrs Evans and Miss Evans were impressed by their willingness to go to ‘Plan B’. Some of the activities included self-defence, dance, piano, guitar, playing different board games, and even paper chain making!

On Tuesday 29th May, the Year 4 & Year 5 clas-ses from St Matthew’s School, hit the hallowed corridors of Parliament House in Perth. We got to experience what it would be like to de-bate a Bill in the Legislative Assembly, and we visited the Legislative Council, also. The build-ing was very impressive and it was nice of our local member for Roe, Peter Rundle, to supply us with a juice drink!

The Year 5 class had an awesome Science lesson yesterday with Mrs D’Alton.  They experimented with wires, batteries and globes to make closed electrical circuits.  It was very cool to explore science using this equipment!

The success the school enjoys is, in large part, due to the interest and involvement of you, the parents, in the many varied activities and experiences organised for the children.
