This semester, St Matthew’s staff have collaborated to design an Effort Grade Rubric. The purpose of this rubric is to ensure consistency across classes and to give parents a clear understanding of what the effort grade measures.
Effort grades reflect a student’s application, persistence, and engagement in learning, rather than their academic ability. They consider factors such as:
- Work Completion
- Persistence
- Focus and Engagement
- Initiiative
- Presentation of Work
- Participation
